The challenges in screening efficiency and open screen area increase dramatically with decreasing cut sizes. Blinded screens, which simply do not provide sufficient performance, are quite common in fine screening processes. W. S. Tyler’s Ultrasonic Screening Systems support the sieving motion of your fine screening equipment and bring you the benefits of self-cleaning action and increased throughput without the sacrifice of wear life due to variable frequency excitation.

Self-Cleaning Action

Ultrasonic technology converts electric energy into mechanical movements. This makes the wires within the screen move individually at a frequency which differs from the machine movement. As the wires move they allow particles, stuck within the openings, to pass or to be rejected.
  • Intended for cuts of < 300 microns
  • Prevents caking
  • Eliminates need to shut-down intervals for cleaning

Improved Wear life

Applying ultrasonic frequency to wire cloth screens often comes at the price of reduced wear life. The reason for this is the excitation close to resonance frequencies. W.S. Tyler’s Ultrasonic Screening Systems avoid this by sweeping through altering excitation frequencies.
  • Sweeps at 33 – 37KHz
  • Avoids “hot spots” in the screen
  • Even distribution across the screening surface

Increased Throughput

The moving wires within the screen, not only eliminate blinding, but also increase production throughput without sacrificing screening accuracy.
  • Meet increased production targets
  • Effectively break up agglomerates
  • Reduce equipment requirements
